Valentine's Day is fast approaching! Thank you to those who have volunteered to bring something in for our party. You will find an item your child has been assigned to bring in for our ice cream sundae bar in Tuesday folders. If you are unable to bring in this item, please email me.
We will all make Valentine bag this week in school. Starting tomorrow, your child may bring in their class Valentines to pass out. I let each student pass out Valentines during recess time. There will be a class list coming home but I will include it on the blog as well. All are welcome to join us for our party on Wednesday, February 14th from 12:15-1:00. Please let me know if you have any questions.
There is NO school this Friday, the 9th or Monday, the12th.
Have a great week!
I can't believe we made it to the last week in January! We are working so hard in second grade as we now start preparing for 3rd grade. There is still so much to accomplish as we make our way through the end of the year.
February book orders are due next Tuesday, February 6th.
This Thursday is skate night at Skateworld. See Tuesday folder for details.
Friday, February 2
Wear your favorite team colors and bring a cash donation to support the BackPack Program
We are back into the full swing of things here in second grade! After a few days of establishing routines we are ready to jump in to our Wonders series. This week we will learn how weather affects us. This will include researching some form of wild weather in small groups and creating a report or project. We will also have a special guest from the National Weather Service come and talk with us about weather tools and how to predict the weather. We will have a fun week of learning!
Book orders have been sent home. Please have any orders in by next Tuesday, January 16th.
We are entering our second round of Fast Bridge testing along with the SRI testing. Due to this, I am holding off on creating a volunteer schedule until we are done. There will be days that I will give the tests during reading group times and will need the flexibility of time. As soon as we are complete I will create a new signup and send it out.
Have a wonderful week!
Christmas program is on Friday with two performances. One is at 8:45 and the other 1:00. Both are the same performance. The students will also go to St. Johns next Tuesday, December 19th to perform for the residents there.
Along with our Wonder's theme for the week, What can we see in the night sky, we will also continue studying Christmas Around the World!
It should be a fun and busy week in second grade!
